I am specially trained in EMDR therapy—otherwise known as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing therapy.
EMDR was originally developed by Francine Shapiro for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Stress responses include fight, flight, or freeze instincts. When our suffering continues from upsetting events, the negative emotions continue to be experienced as if they are frozen in time.
EMDR allows the brain to resume its natural healing and reprocess traumatic memories while allowing the memories to remain without the negative emotional response.
Although EMDR continues to be an effective intervention for PTSD, it can also be used to address other challenges to include:
Anxiety
Panic attacks
Depression
Addiction
